Requirements of kiln lining material for Shaft Kiln
Commonly used kiln lining material is actually composed of three parts:
refractory materials, thermal insulation materials and cementation materials.
1, thermal insulation materials
lower thermal conductivity: the amount of heat transfer capacity of the
physical quantity called thermal conductivity. Metal thermal conductivity
is greater than non-metallic, liquid thermal conductivity is greater than the
gas; the larger the value, the stronger the heat transfer capacity; the other
hand, the worse the insulation. In solid materials, generally the smallest
thermal conductivity of non-metallic materials (≤ 0.22W / m  ° C) known
as the insulation material. These materials have many pores, uniform
distribution, small volume density, good thermal insulation performance.
Good thermal stability: the working temperature of insulating materials is
lower than refractory materials, generally below 1100 ℃. In the working
temperature range, it requires no-degenerate,no-damage, no-corrode on the
shaft kiln after long term work; material combustible, organic matter, water
content should be minimal.
Has a certain strength and plasticity: thermal insulation layer is generally
set between the refractory bricks and the cylinder, it needs to meet the
construction requirements, and can withstand a certain external force; besides
insulation products, in the rest of the space use unshaped castable, it will be
cemented into a whole insulation.
2, refractory materials
Anti-high temperature heat loss: Refractoriness of not less than 1580 ℃ of
inorganic non-metallic materials and products called refractories. In the kiln
under high temperature, do not soften, do not melt; in the normal or abnormal
circumstances, can maintain a certain degree of structural strength and bulk
density stability. Only with this refractory masonry lining,it maintain normal
operation and production.
Anti-acid-base chemical erosion: the material in the kiln calcination process,
go through a series of complex physical and chemical reactions, different parts
of the acid gas or alkaline slag will erode Kiln lining.Especially in the burning
zone, the reaction material at high temperature will be liquid phase, the chemical
erosion of the refractory is more intense. Therefore, the required materials can
not participate in chemical reactions, there is no sticky material phenomenon.
Anti-material sports wear:during calcination process in shaft kiln, the material
move from top to bottom, from low temperature to high temperature, and then
continue to low temperature movement. The lining of the kiln body is always
subjected to the movement of the material wear and tear, especially after the
formation of clinker grinding calcination of strong, more serious on the lining
wear. Therefore, the masonry wall in the refractory material must have a strong
anti-wear ability.
Specification of the dimensions: the quality of refractory masonry kiln calcination
process has an important impact. When the kiln end fire position is not stable, due
to thermal shock phenomenon occurs lining loosening, shorten the service life,
increase the kiln body heat, the kiln body surface is not round, calcined easily lead
to "partial fire" phenomenon; Loss, and so on. Therefore, the shape and size of
refractory bricks must be standardized and accurate, which is to ensure the quality
of the most basic conditions of masonry.
3, cementing materials
In the construction of refractory bricks and insulation bricks, it need chemical
composition and physical properties of refractory bricks and similar binder, to fill
the cracks, so that the lining to form a tight whole, which is cementing materials,
commonly known as refractory mud (or fire mud ). It is composed of powder refractory
materials and binder composition of an unshaped refractory. According to the fire clay
material can be divided into clay, high aluminum, siliceous and magnesia fire mud, the
particle size according to the use of requirements often controlled at 1 mm. In addition,
attention must be paid to the material properties of the same (or equivalent), but also
requires it must have a strong bond, construction performance, acid corrosion resistance,
erosion resistance and the necessary degree of refractoriness; Due to drying and firing
caused by expansion or contraction, causing cracks in the cracks.
